Intuitive Eating Counseling
What is Intuitive Eating?
A framework for eating that uses internal body signals and rational thought to make daily food choices that align with your personal preferences, health and lifestyle.
Intuitive Eating is weight inclusive, meaning it emphasizes improved well-being without prioritizing changing body weight, shape or size.
The framework was developed by two dietitians in 1995 who realized that the traditional models of weight loss and diet plans were not working and wanted a better approach for helping their clients improve their health.
An evidence-based model with its own validated assessment and over 200 research studies to back it up.
What Intuitive Eating is not:
A diet plan.
A quick fix.
A way to change your weight, body shape or size.
A set or rules you must follow.
Easy.
Who would benefit from Intuitive Eating Counseling?
Those who feel they have a poor or broken relationship with food.
Those who feel they have a poor or broken relationship with their bodies.
Those who have been on multiple diets (yo-yo dieting) that “didn’t work” (weight regain) and are fed up with the cycle, but don’t know what else to do.
Those who have/had an eating disorder, are now stable and ready to re-learn how to eat sustainably.

To put aside acts and aspirations of weight loss; it is not possible to truly embrace or work towards becoming an intuitive eater, with your well-being as the true goal, while also actively trying to lose weight. It is okay, and expected, to express the desire to change your body, as this is part of the process of letting go of diet culture, but intuitive eating is not a weight loss plan.
Set intentions to spend time, daily, working on your plan. This is a process that takes time and patience!
Trust the process.
Know your why.
